DEW club have been busy for the last few weeks, with a brilliant meeting with James Hanks and a tour around one of our Omsco antibiotic free dairy farms.
During the meeting with James Hanks, we assessed the progress of our members over the last few years and it was incredible to see the progress our farms have made in reducing cell counts, improving heat detection and increasing yield.
At the end of the meeting the Farming Community Network gave us a short talk about their many and varied services.
The next event, was the farm walk, where Alex introduced the new AHDB QuarterPRO initiative and it's mastitis pattern recognition software. The tool aims to help dairy farms achieve continuous improvement in mastitis control and udder health on farm leading to more saleable milk, higher milk quality, improved cow welfare and less antibiotic use.
