Our workshop is designed to improve knowledge and confidence around dairy youngstock management between birth and weaning.
It covers the important stages within calf rearing including early calf management, effective milk feeding, calf housing and management of weaning.
Learning outcomes:
Plan and prepare for successful heifer production.
Conduct a basic clinical examination of young calves and provide appropriate management to ensure maximum survival rates.
Describe basic physiological development in calves and outline the key management steps required to produce a healthy, well-grown calf which is in optimum condition to be weaned.
