A comprehensive approach to healthy and productive herds
Professional veterinary service across four counties, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
As per the new lockdown situation commencing 5th of November, Drove Farm Vets will continue to provide a 24 hour farm animal service, including our Vet Tech service, whilst abiding by the governments coronavirus guidelines in order to try and ensure everyone’s safety on farm.
Consultancy and Herd Health Planning visits will be accommodated via virtual means should you prefer.
As we enter this new period of lockdown we would like to remind you all of the guidance we have been following regarding visiting your farms, not least for your protection as well as ours:
If you need a visit and anyone on the farm is unwell, self-isolating or shielding, please inform us at the point of booking
Should a member of your family or team become ill after you have booked a visit or TB test, please inform the farm office as soon as possible
If possible, the animal/animals should be restrained prior to arrival of the vet, in order to reduce time on farm and allow better maintenance of 2m social distancing
When the vet is on farm, please respect the social distancing rules and remain at least 2m apart at all times
Only have the minimum number of staff nearby that are required to safely move and handle the animals whilst the vet is on farm.
Please do not handle any of the equipment belonging to the vet unless asked to do so
Vets and Vet Techs will wear masks on farm
We appreciate that the work that we do together sometimes makes it hard to follow these guidelines strictly at all times, but please make every effort to do so where possible.
The Team at Drove Farm Vets
Drove Farm Vets are an independent, RCVS Tier two specialist farm animal practice and founding member of XL Vets, specialising in all aspects of health and productivity in farm animal species across Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Berkshire.
Our farm only vets hold a range of postgraduate qualifications and are committed to helping our clients maximise their performance and profitability.
Drove Farm Vets provide first opinion and emergency services alongside preventative whole herd consultancy work for all farm animal species.
We are committed to client education and have set up four successful client discussion groups as well as running regular client training days on a variety of subjects.
Along with a dedicated farm only office team, our vets provide a specalist service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to all our farm animal clients.
We have used Drove Farm Vets for many years at Kingston Hill Farm for our 580 cow Autumn calving dairy herd. We are fortunate to have such a proactive, committed and supportive practice in our locality and have received excellent service from them. They seek to work proactively with us to constantly improve animal health and are a valued part of our wider support team. I would have no hesitation in recommending them based on our experience.
