Mastering Medicines

Red tractor have now stated it is mandatory that at least one member of farm staff, is to have done a mastering medicines course within the last 5 years for Dairy farmers. We also run a Beef farmers mastering medicine course covering a range of the below information, a certificate is provided for all our courses.

Participants will learn the principles behind responsible use of vaccines, non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, antibiotics and anthelmintics.

This session has received very positive feedback from participants, with the flexibility of small group learning on farm for your members of staff.

Learning outcomes:

Describe the following classes of medicines, what they do and when to use them;

- Vaccines

- Antibiotics

- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)

- Anthelminitics

Understand how an active health plan ensures effective product use.

Describe safe and effective aministration of medicines.

Comply with medicines legislation and farm assurance requirements.
